Anna Warner, a film wedding photographer and 16mm + super 8 wedding videographer based in NYC.
A lover of film, philosophy, lattes made by friends, cats, knitting, and losing myself in national parks. I am forever drawn to dusty antique stores and wonky handmade objects over crisp perfection. I treat my clients as my friends and still cry during wedding vows.
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, I now live in the big apple and I’m loving it. Currently in my 5th year in the wedding world, I have moved further and further away from considering myself a “wedding photographer.” I am a documentarian, artist, friend with a camera.
What is documentary style:
At weddings, I let the energy of the day and the people there guide me. I watch for the natural, unplanned moments that reveal more emotion and connection than a perfectly posed shot could. Your best friends making you double over in laughter, muddy dress lace from running through the grass, your grandparents holding hands as they watch you dance, a lipstick smudge on your partner’s suit jacket from squeezing you tight -- the little details that can’t be directed and planned are what later recall the authentic story of your day. I arrive at weddings with the intention of bearing witness and letting the day that happens flow naturally through my lens. My goal is always to allow my couples to be themselves and prioritize their time with their closest friends and family members while they’re all in one place together. Meanwhile, I’ll snap the images or footage that will allow them to truly remember how these moments felt.
